Machine guns became obsolete as a result. Gun animations could be cancelled as well by using the reload command, hence one would find it ridiculous for the first time that you can spray with two shotguns by simply cancelling the animation and switching to the other shotgun. As a result of the combination, although the slash animation did not occur, the game still registers a slash - hence damaging the target. An example would the cancelling the neverending animation of the sword by simply using the block command. The idea of K-Style is to exploit the basic flaws of the game engine to "cancel" or "remove" an animation fully. Korean-Style(K-Style) was founded was by a player named "Kraise" with an alias of "Korean"- hence the name. In 2005, however, GunZ's gameplay was changed thoroughly. Therefore, in the earlier era of GunZ, firearms was the preferred weapon of choice, especially the machine guns - being able to spray down a 'newbie' who spam slashes with the sword was the best feeling that ever existed. When executing combos with the sword or kodachi, one will not be able to move, hence will be left vulnerable as a bullet magnet. With the sword in your hand, commands you could execute are slash, block, jump and dashing by double-tapping directional keys, whereas with a gun, double-tapping the directional keys serve as a tumble, avoiding any gunfire in the line of sight. The gaming mechanics was meant to be very basic, players will be able to wield three separate weapons - a sword/dagger/kodachi(dual swords) and two firearms of choice. GunZ: The Duel GunZ: The Duel, also known as GunZ, was an online free-to-play, real-time, room-based, third-person shooting game, created by South Korean-based MAIET Entertainment. To change one aspect of the game, what would you change? Why? It played and how often did you play the game? To improve this game is to go the same way of improving all Softnyx games - roll back to 2008 :D ![]() Game interface was friendly, with the typical room-based type of games. However, due to wolves able to manipulate and take advantage of the blind spots, glitches through the walls are inevitable and thus the game is full of exploits and not to forget - hackers. This heightens the skill ceiling for human players as a higher game sense is required in order to kill the wolves hunting them. The game play was like your typical first person shooters, in addition with the wolves - jumping and running on walls, preying weak humans from above. I believe the music and voices that occur during kill streaks received no complaints. The only thing looking weird is the damaged animation, when a player gets attacked by a wolf. ![]() Wolves attack animation was close to perfect. Sadly, there are no quests that expands on the storyline, just player vs player-type of game play and thus, there are no non-playable characters.ĭespite how awesome this game is, it was Softnyx who developed it, thus, at one point of time, it became pay-to-win, but I will not go in much on that, this is about good stuffs of the game.Īs far as I remember, the visuals were acceptable during my years of playing it. The experiments later became known to the public as more of these "werewolves" experiment began to escape.Īs a player, we take on the role of a soldier, able to transform to a wolf and back at will. Secretly, the military held experiments on them and managed to invent two drugs - one to turn humans to werewolves and vice versa and these drugs were constantly supplied. When things got out of hand, the military took over and managed to catch a few of these "werewolves". It all started when sightings and attacks of "werewolves" were spotted by the public. The game came about with a rich and meaningful story. It was a first person shooter like no other. In other game modes, there would be humans versus wolves, where one team will only consists of wolves of different abilities and the other only humans. Wolves are able to climb and jump from wall to wall. In short, players have the ability to transform into a wolf and hunt down the other players. Wolfteam Wolfteam was an online free to play, real time, room-based, first person shooting game, developed and published by the South Korean company Softnyx released in 16 August 2007.Īs a person who started and loved games in the first person genre, Wolfteam really caught my attention greatly.
